The tire tread doesn’t look very deep. I’d blame it on crap tires on a good snow vehicle. Its only good in weather if you have decent rubber. I once had a set of new Yokohamas on my old Audi that were “supposed” to be decent in the snow. They almost got me killed in the first storm. They were pricey high performance touring tires that were beyond fantastic in wet and dry yet sucked the big one in anything under 40ºf. Doesn’t matter how good the vehicle is if what contacts the road is sub par.
